Paris, September 24, 2026 – Alpha Networks and Ateme have collaborated to deliver a secure, end-to-end video platform supporting the digital distribution of live sports content for a major international sporting event this summer. 

The joint solution combines Ateme’s video processing and delivery workflow expertise with Alpha Networks’ Gecko OTT platform, providing a streamlined environment for the management, delivery and viewing of live content across digital platforms. 

The solution brings together the key components required to deliver a high-quality live streaming service, from video processing through to the end-user experience. 

Ateme is responsible for the live video workflow, including transcoding, packaging, storage and origin, while Alpha Networks provides the Gecko OTT platform, cloud infrastructure and application layer. 

Given the requirements of a live sporting event, keeping latency as low as possible was a key prerequisite for the project. The target was glass-to-glass latency below 8 seconds for the live channels, and the solution achieved 5 seconds.  

This performance was enabled by optimizing the entire delivery chain, from Ateme’s transcoding and packaging workflow through CDN delivery, the OTT platform, application and player. Achieving this level of latency across the complete chain demonstrates the importance of close integration between the different technologies involved in live video delivery, ensuring viewers can experience the action with minimal delay. 

The platform supports the distribution of 10 HD live channels with adaptive bitrate streaming, HLS and DASH protocols and a low-latency configuration. 

On the user-facing side, Alpha Networks delivers a white-label experience, including a web companion application and a dedicated Android TV application, enabling viewers to access live sports content through connected TV devices. 

The solution also incorporates features such as secure authentication and device pairing through QR code, providing a controlled and seamless viewing experience. 

The project demonstrates how specialized technologies across the video delivery chain brought together to support demanding live streaming services.
